KB Star Banking Obtains ISMS-P Certification for Mobile Identification, Enhancing Information Security Reliability
A Certification System Jointly Supervised by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Personal Information Protection Commission

KB Kookmin Bank announced on September 7 that it has obtained the Information Security Management System–Personal Information and Privacy (ISMS-P) certification for its KB Star Banking mobile identification service.
ISMS-P is an information security and privacy certification system jointly supervised by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Personal Information Protection Commission, and operated by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA). The certification assesses whether the operation of information security and personal data management systems, as well as security and stability measures, meet the required standards.
The KB Star Banking mobile identification service received this certification after undergoing preliminary and main reviews starting in May.
Mobile identification, available through KB Star Banking, has the same legal validity as physical identification cards such as resident registration cards and driver's licenses. Its advantage is that it can be used for identity verification not only in financial transactions but also at public institutions, hospitals, airports, and any place where verifying identity is required.

An official from KB Kookmin Bank stated, "Obtaining the ISMS-P certification further increased the reliability of our information security and privacy management system for the mobile identification service," adding, "We will continue to reinforce the security and convenience of the service to ensure customers can use it safely and with ease."
