Jeonju Branch Established Following Five Regional Hubs
Providing On-Site, Consumer-Centered Protection Services
The General Insurance Association of Korea announced on September 7 that it has established a new 'Jeonju Branch' at the Kyobo Life Insurance Jeonju office building in North Jeolla Province Special Self-Governing Province. With the opening of the Jeonju Branch, the association has now expanded its on-site financial support infrastructure to the North Jeolla region as well.
Until now, the association has conducted regional operations through five key locations: the Central Regional Headquarters (Suwon), Daejeon Branch, Western Regional Headquarters (Gwangju), Eastern Regional Headquarters (Busan), and Daegu Branch.
The Jeonju Branch will focus on consumer protection services closely aligned with local needs, including in-person consultations, checking insurance subscription history for North Jeolla residents, and providing guidance on autonomous dispute mediation for consumer complaints. In addition, by working with relevant organizations such as local governments and the police in North Jeolla, the branch plans to carry out various safety initiatives aimed at preventing insurance fraud and establishing an advanced traffic culture.
The opening ceremony, held on this day, was attended by Lee Taegi, the Director of the North Jeolla branch of the Financial Supervisory Service, Professor Yang Kijin of Jeonbuk National University, and local executives from general insurance companies including Samsung, Hyundai, DB, and KB, as well as representatives from financial authorities, academia, and the insurance industry.

In his commemorative speech, Lee Byungrae, Chairman of the General Insurance Association of Korea, stated, "The opening of the Jeonju Branch demonstrates the association's commitment to providing closer and more rapid on-site financial services to residents of North Jeolla Province." He added, "We will do our utmost to ensure the Jeonju Branch becomes a reliable shield for insurance consumers in the region, while also serving as a core hub that promotes mutual growth in local communities by maintaining close collaboration with local governments, relevant institutions, and the general insurance industry."
