Deloitte Anjin to Hold Seminar on Addressing Overseas Assignee Tax Risks for Companies in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam
Issues and Countermeasures Related to Overseas Assignees
Deloitte Anjin LLC announced that it will hold a practical seminar for companies in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions, titled "Overseas Assignee Tax Risks That Are Easily Overlooked: A Practical Seminar for Companies in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam," at the Busan International Finance Center (BIFC2) on the 18th.
A representative from Anjin stated, "The seminar is targeted at finance, accounting, and HR managers and executives of domestic companies. It provides countermeasures for tax risks and HR management issues that may arise in the process of managing overseas assignees. Having been held annually in Seoul, this seminar will take place in Busan for the first time this year."
The seminar will comprise three sessions: tax management for overseas assignees and essential conditions for global business; the tax diagnosis and tax equalization policy operation cases of Korean global companies' overseas assignees; and designing systematic expatriate compensation policies and response strategies for manufacturers in the southeastern region.
In the first session, Hyukki Kwon, a partner in the Global Employer Services (GES) group at Deloitte Anjin Tax Advisory, will give a presentation on "Tax Management for Overseas Assignees: Essential Conditions for Global Business." In the second session, Dongyoon Kim, also a partner in the GES group at Deloitte Anjin Tax Advisory, will present on "Tax Diagnosis and Tax Equalization Policy Operation Cases of Overseas Assignees in Korean Global Companies."
In the third session, Yurok Jung, CEO of ECA Korea, will deliver a presentation on "Designing Systematic Expatriate Compensation Policies and Response Strategies for Southeastern Region Manufacturers." Participation in this seminar is free of charge. Registration is available on the Deloitte Anjin official website.
Minsoo Seo, leader of the GES group at Deloitte Anjin Tax Advisory, stated, "As Korean companies expand overseas and global workforce mobility becomes increasingly complex, managing HR and tax affairs for overseas assignees is no longer a simple administrative work, but has become a core task directly linked to a company’s global management stability. This seminar will serve as a comprehensive review of tax risks, compensation policies, and operational issues companies face in managing overseas assignees, and a venue to explore actionable solutions."
