Seoul Metro Expands Web Locker Service to All Stations Under Its Jurisdiction
It is now possible to use the Seoul subway locker service without installing an app. By scanning the QR code attached to the locker with a smartphone, users can access the service directly via a web page without needing to install an app or sign up as a member.

View original imageSeoul Metro announced on September 7 that it has introduced a locker web service and has completed its implementation in all stations under its jurisdiction where lockers are operated. As a result, passengers can now choose between the app or the web service depending on their preference or circumstances.
To use the service, simply scan the QR code on the locker and select the web option. Even those who have not pre-installed the app, as well as one-time users, can access the service immediately on site. Seoul Metro gradually rolled out the web service starting with stations with higher user demand, and finished expanding it to all stations last August. The user interface and on-site guidance materials have also been updated so that first-time users can easily understand how to use the service.
The company also plans to gradually add new features to its existing 'Ttota Locker' app. Within this year, Seoul Metro will launch a 'Locker Sharing Service,' which allows someone else to retrieve items on behalf of the user, and a 'Delivery Service,' which transports stored items to a different station. The company explained that, through these upgrades, the lockers will evolve beyond simple storage facilities into a foundation for urban logistics services.
