The Seoul International Fireworks Festival, organized by Hanwha Group, will take place at 8:00 p.m. on September 5 at Yeouido Hangang Park. This year, the event is being held about three weeks earlier than usual, taking into account the Chuseok holiday and increased demand from foreign tourists.
On the 4th, the 'Freedom250 Commemorative Fireworks and Drone Show' is being held around Yeouido Hangang Park in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. This event, planned by the U.S. Embassy in Korea to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence and the alliance and friendship between Korea and the United States, also serves as the prelude to the 'Seoul International Fireworks Festival 2026.' First, the United Kingdom team will present specially designed fireworks synchronized to songs such as "Soda Pop," featured in the Netflix animation K-Pop Demon Hunters. Following this, the United States team will express the grandeur of light illuminating the darkness, with fireworks set to melodies like "Carmina Burana: O Fortuna."
Hanwha Corporation will also showcase a fireworks display inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s masterpiece "Starry Night," along with an emotional scene set to singer Lee Sora’s "The Wind Blows."
This year’s main viewing highlights include the so-called "Tower Fireworks" utilizing Wonhyo Bridge and the "Bridge Production" featuring various new patterns. The "Decalcomanie" production, where fireworks are symmetrically launched from both sides of the Hangang River centered on Wonhyo Bridge, is a signature feature unique to the Seoul International Fireworks Festival. This production allows a large number of spectators from wide areas to enjoy the wide-spanning fireworks.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government, together with relevant organizations such as the fire department, district offices, police, and Hanwha Group, will set up a Comprehensive Safety Headquarters to oversee crowd control, traffic conditions, and emergency responses at the event venue. A total of 6,800 personnel will be deployed for safety management and order maintenance.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency will completely restrict vehicle access to Yeoui-daero (from the southern end of Mapo Bridge to the 63 Building) from 3:00 p.m. until midnight. Additionally, both directions of Wonhyo Bridge will be closed to vehicles from 9:00 a.m. on September 5 to 3:00 a.m. on September 6 for event setup and breakdown. Six access points including Yeouinaru-ro will allow passage only for nearby apartment residents and event vehicles.
Yeouinaru Station, where heavy crowding is expected, will operate as a non-stop station for three hours, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
For citizens unable to attend in person, Hanwha Corporation will broadcast the Yeouido fireworks show live through its official YouTube channel, "HanwhaTV."
