A three-year-old boy died while napping at a daycare center in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
According to the police and fire authorities on September 4, a report was received at about 2:52 p.m. that day from a daycare center in Seowon-gu, Cheongju, stating, "A child who was napping is not breathing."
The boy, identified as A, was in cardiac arrest when he was transported to the hospital by 119 paramedics but was later pronounced dead.
A had lunch that day and began his nap around 1 p.m. It was reported that he had no known underlying health conditions.
As of now, no signs of trauma or abuse have been found in A.
