The task force, headed by Mayor Jeong, consists of six divisions: Attraction Planning, External Cooperation, Strategic Support, Road and Traffic, PR Support, and Planning and Legal Affairs. The city plans to promote activities to bring the race park to Yangju through comprehensive interdepartmental collaboration.
During the meeting, attendees shared updates on the relocation of Gwacheon Race Park, reviewed urban planning-related laws and proposed measures to improve public and metropolitan transportation. They also discussed strategies for building citizen consensus and external publicity.
Yangju City expects intense competition with other local governments, such as Siheung City—which highlights the area around Sin-Hyeon Station—and Hwaseong City, which possesses idle land owned by the Korea Racing Authority. In response, Yangju City plans to develop a differentiated strategy that emphasizes the city's location conditions and the positive impact on development in northern Gyeonggi Province.
