However, as crimes are becoming more sophisticated using artificial intelligence (AI) technology and malicious applications, people’s everyday lives remain at risk.
In response, the Financial Supervisory Service has established the "Voice Phishing Prevention Week," with the participation of all sectors of the financial industry—banks, securities firms, savings banks, credit card companies, and mutual finance institutions—for the first time this year. Ten financial associations, including the Korea Federation of Banks, as well as related financial companies, will participate.
The participating organizations will operate the campaign website as the core platform, offering online content and interactive events, while also conducting in-person events to prevent victimization.
Campaign ambassador and singer Na Tae-joo will appear on MBC Radio to broadcast voice commercials promoting the prevention week and core action guidelines. Posters and promotional materials for the prevention week will also be posted on the official websites and social media channels of the Financial Supervisory Service and the participating financial companies.
Promotional content will also be displayed on monitors inside the branches of financial companies, as well as on large outdoor electronic billboards in high-traffic areas such as the Media Wall at Seoul National Cemetery in Dongjak-gu and Yeouido Station in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.

During the campaign period, the latest crime techniques will be highlighted—not only impersonation of institutions or family members, loan scams, and malicious app installations, but also cash pickup/delivery scams disguised as high-paying part-time jobs. Guidance on how to respond in various situations will also be provided.
