Pyeongtaek to Host Integrated Korea-U.S. Festivals... "Come to the Closest America in Korea"
September 18-20 at Anjeong-ro, Paengseong-eup
Cultural Experiences, Cuisine, and Performances Abound
Camp Humphreys Open to the Public on September 19
Participants Must Bring Valid ID
Two signature Korea-U.S. exchange festivals representing Pyeongtaek have been merged into a single event, which will be held over three days.
The Pyeongtaek International Exchange Foundation announced on September 4 that from September 18 to 20, it will host the 'Hanmi Hanmaeum×Eoullim Festival' on the main boulevard in front of the K-6 Millett Gate in Anjeong-ro, Paengseong-eup, Pyeongtaek City.
This event combines the previous 'Korea-U.S. Friendship Hanmaeum Festival' and the 'Korea-U.S. Eoullim Festival.' Unlike past events that mainly featured performances, this festival will be held as a street event where Pyeongtaek citizens, U.S. Forces Korea service members, and their families can directly participate and experience each other's cultures.
The festival grounds will feature themed zones, including the K-Zone, US-Zone, Korea-U.S. Eoullim Zone, and Kids Zone. Visitors can experience the food and culture of both countries and participate in activities such as collaborative mural painting, a wishing tree, and hands-on programs for children and families.
The stage will present a variety of performances including choir, traditional Korean nongak, musicals, and dance. There will also be a 'Korea-U.S. Cooking Competition' where participants from both countries showcase their culinary skills, and the 'Pyeongtaek Got Talent' show, featuring local citizens' talents.
On the second day of the festival, September 19, an open house event at Camp Humphreys, organized by the U.S. military base, will be held in conjunction. To enter the base, visitors must carry a valid photo ID, such as a resident registration card, driver's license, or passport.

A foundation representative stated, "Since two distinctive festivals will be held in one place, citizens and U.S. military families will have the opportunity to experience Korea-U.S. cultures in an even more diverse way. We are preparing a festival where everyone can stay comfortably, enjoy together, and communicate freely."
