“A Warm Meal and Briquettes”… BNCT Serves Nutritious Meals to 200 Seniors
KRW 3 Million Donated to Busan Briquette Bank
Volunteer Efforts to Share Nutritious Meals
Employees and executives of companies operating in Busan New Port personally prepared and served warm meals for local seniors.
On September 3, BNCT, the operator of Terminal 5 at Busan New Port, together with I&K New Port, donated KRW 3 million to the “Bountiful Love Nutritious Meal Day” program run by the Busan Briquette Bank. They also conducted a volunteer activity to share nutritious meals for local seniors.
The event provided meals to approximately 200 people, including low-income seniors living alone, vulnerable groups, and households supported with meal boxes in the region. About 15 employees and executives from BNCT and I&K New Port participated in all aspects of the volunteer work, from meal preparation and serving, to lunch box packaging, dishwashing, and cleaning up on site.
On that day, the seniors enjoyed samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), glutinous rice with mung beans, a variety of side dishes, and fresh fruit. The employees prepared the food with care and personally served the meals, conveying their warmth and neighborly affection to the seniors alongside the nutritious meal.
This volunteer work went beyond simply providing financial support. Employees and executives visited the site themselves, participated directly, engaged with local residents, and delivered practical assistance to those in need.
The partnership between BNCT and the Busan Briquette Bank did not begin this year. Since 2022, BNCT Terminal has been working with the Busan Briquette Bank to support vulnerable energy groups by donating briquettes and volunteering in meal-sharing activities, continuously assisting neighbors facing difficulties in the local community.
Deuksun Choi, CEO of BNCT, said, "It is very meaningful to be able to serve warm meals to the seniors and express our gratitude and respect. I hope these carefully prepared nutritious meals will help support the seniors’ healthy daily lives."
He added, "BNCT Terminal will continue to engage in community outreach activities, working together with our local community and delivering warmth to neighbors in need."
