Incheon Port Authority Holds '2026 Port Safety Conference' in Busan
Incheon Port Authority (IPA) held the "2026 IPA Port Safety Conference" at BEXCO in Busan on September 3, 2026.
This conference was held in conjunction with the Korea Safety Industry Expo, organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. It was designed to enhance disaster and safety response capabilities at Incheon Port and to strengthen the expertise in occupational safety and health management among safety managers from each department of Incheon Port Authority.
The conference consisted of two sessions: disaster and safety response management in ports, and measures to prevent major safety accidents at port sites.
In the first session, participants examined public institutions' response strategies for port disaster situations and shared response systems to ensure the stable maintenance of essential port functions even during disasters or crises.
The second session focused on analyzing common safety accident cases at ports, and addressed practical topics such as accident prevention measures and proper methods for wearing and managing personal protective equipment in the field.
Afterwards, safety management personnel from each IPA department participated in brainstorming sessions to share risk factors related to disaster and safety management at the port, and discussed joint response measures. They agreed to strengthen continual cooperation systems for accident prevention by promoting inter-departmental information sharing and communication.
