Connecting Nam June Paik and Gaudi... Hana Bank Holds Special Media Art Exhibition
At Hana Art Bank Gallery Until September 27
On September 3, Hana Bank announced that it will hold a special media art exhibition at the 'Hana Art Bank Gallery' in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, until September 27 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Nam June Paik's passing and the 100th anniversary of Antoni Gaudi's death.
Entitled 'SHO: Becoming HANA', this exhibition is the first project in a series inspired by the imagined scenario in which Korea’s renowned media artist Nam June Paik would invite prominent artists from countries such as Spain, the United States, and Japan to jointly exhibit their works each year.
The exhibition reinterprets 'the future of connection' envisioned by Nam June Paik through technology, and 'the order of life' that Spanish architect Gaudi found in nature, by linking them within the world view of 'SHO (Super-Connected Organism)' as proposed by contemporary artist Jang Seunghyo.
Alongside main guest artist Jang Seunghyo, more than 30 emerging artists also participated in the collaborative project. The venue features over 250 works, including original prints by Nam June Paik, media art, paintings, and limited edition prints.
On September 16, a special 'Artist Talk' event will be held, offering visitors a chance to communicate directly with exhibition figures such as Lee Kyungho, board member of the Nam June Paik Foundation, and artist Jang Seunghyo.
