Law&Company Launches Global Version of 'SuperLawyer'—'Lexpand AI' Supporting 9 Jurisdictions and 8 Languages
Full-Scale Entry into the KRW 500 Trillion Asian Market
Integrated Support for Multiple Jurisdictions and Languages
Blocking Hallucinations and Enhanced Security
Law&Company (CEO Kim Bonhwan), which has led the domestic legal AI market, has officially launched the Asia global edition of its proprietary legal AI service, 'Superlawyer,' marking a full-scale foray into the international stage.
On September 3, Law&Company announced the official release of 'Lexpand AI,' a global legal AI service that integrates nine Asian jurisdictions into a single platform. The name 'Lexpand AI' combines 'Lex' (Law) and 'Expand,' together with the service's core technology, 'AI,' to represent 'maximizing the capabilities of legal professionals through AI.'
According to a report by the global market research agency Global Market Insights, as of 2024, the Asia-Pacific legal services market has grown to approximately 500 trillion won. Law&Company plans to prove the capabilities of K-LegalTech worldwide through its full-scale entry into the Asian market.
While global legal AI services supporting Asian jurisdictions have previously existed, they were limited to only a few jurisdictions or were costly, making them accessible primarily to large corporations and major law firms. Taking these market conditions into account, Law&Company has planned a subscription-based legal AI service that allows the legal teams of more multinational companies, law firms, and local legal professionals to conveniently select and use key Asian jurisdictions in various languages.
9 Jurisdictions Including Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam; Support for 8 Languages Including English, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese
Lexpand AI serves as the global edition of 'Superlawyer,' the leading domestic legal AI service operated by Law&Company. Superlawyer rapidly secured users in the domestic legal AI sector, recording over 35,000 legal professionals signing up within two years of its launch.
Law&Company has condensed years of experience in legal AI development and service operations to deliver a service tailored to Asia. Lexpand AI employs the same engine as Superlawyer, which has already demonstrated its performance in Korea, and utilizes multiple commercial large language models (LLMs).
The most notable feature of Lexpand AI is its 'One Platform, Multi-Jurisdictions' strategy, supporting nine Asian jurisdictions in eight languages. Users can perform legal research, draft legal documents, conduct document analysis, and make queries or requests by document or case. Additionally, the service offers a 'Longform' function specialized for drafting and editing legal documents.
Lexpand AI covers nine jurisdictions in total: Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, and Hong Kong. Supported languages include Korean, Malay, Vietnamese, English, Indonesian, Japanese, Chinese (Traditional), and Thai. Users can freely set both language and jurisdiction; for example, one can select the Singapore jurisdiction and receive various legal services relevant to Singapore in Korean.
Robust Hallucination Verification and Security... Data Stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud
Lexpand AI offers highly accurate performance by optimizing for the demands of the Asian legal market and leveraging Law&Company's accumulated technical expertise. Key features include minimizing hallucinations and ensuring data security.
Law&Company has worked to strengthen the reliability of responses by filing a total of five patents aiming to minimize hallucinations in legal AI services. As a result, 'Superlawyer' achieved full marks on the 15th Korean Bar Examination multiple-choice questions.
Lexpand AI builds a database of legal data from nine Asian jurisdictions and uses Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) to provide responses grounded in this data. All answers undergo fact-checking, and when actual legal data is cited, hyperlinks are generated so that cited precedents and statutes are directly connected to their full text, allowing users to immediately verify sources.
The data security policy is also strictly enforced. Data inputted and outputted via Lexpand AI is processed and stored securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud, with communication between the service and AI models safely linked via AWS PrivateLink. Furthermore, strong data security measures include: zero data retention after AI processing, no user data being used for training, and the ability for users to delete their data at any time to ensure a safe operating environment.
Service Upgrades Based on Feedback... Participation in Singapore's 'TechLaw.Fest' September 9th–10th
Law&Company plans to focus on service enhancements based on initial user feedback and real-world usage experience. Starting September 9–10, the company will officially introduce Lexpand AI at 'TechLaw.Fest,' Asia's largest legal tech industry expo held in Singapore. The event, marking the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the modern Singaporean legal system, is expected to attract more than 2,000 participants from over 30 countries.
Law&Company will also swiftly gauge local market responses to facilitate partnerships for sales and legal data supply targeting Japan and other major countries, thereby broadening user touchpoints and accelerating service upgrades.
Lexpand AI, just as with Superlawyer in Korea, is offered under three subscription plans: Starter, Standard, and Professional. To celebrate the global launch, members who sign up by the 20th will receive 10,000 credits for use within the service.
