KOSDAQ Opens Higher But Turns Slightly Weaker
The KOSPI index rebounded in early trading on the 3rd, rising more than 1% and recovering losses from the previous day. In contrast, KOSDAQ started higher but later turned downward.
As of 9:40 a.m. on this day, the KOSPI was trading at 6,633.47, up 70.75 points (1.08%) from the previous trading day. By investor type, individual investors recorded a net purchase of 98.825 billion won, while foreign investors and institutions showed net sales of 262.979 billion won and 27.399 billion won, respectively.
Most sectors were on an upward trend. Insurance (+5.18%) showed a particularly notable increase, with finance (+2.65%), transportation & logistics (+2.45%), electric & gas (+2.23%), and distribution (+2.00%) also posting strong gains of over 2%. In contrast, telecommunications (-0.65%), textiles & apparel (-0.64%), paper & wood (-0.41%), and medical & precision instruments (-0.34%) saw slight declines.
Among the top stocks by market capitalization, Samsung Electronics (+0.8%), SK hynix (+0.8%), and SK Square (+1.2%)—the top three stocks—remained strong. Financial stocks such as KB Financial Group (+5.5%), Samsung Life Insurance (+4.9%), Shinhan Financial Group (+4.7%), and Hana Financial Group (+4.1%) showed especially robust gains.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index was trading at 801.33, down 2.65 points (0.33%) from the previous day. Individual investors recorded a net purchase of 180.047 billion won, while foreign investors and institutions posted net sales of 145.985 billion won and 28.512 billion won, respectively.
By sector, most were slightly weaker, including electric & electronics (-1.30%), machinery & equipment (-0.77%), construction (-0.68%), and paper & wood (-0.66%). Only some sectors, such as entertainment & culture (+1.58%), metals (+1.07%), and non-metals (+0.68%), showed gains or remained stable.

Among the KOSDAQ market cap leaders, Alteogen (0.0%) was flat, while Ecopro (-0.4%) and Ecopro BM (-1.8%) slightly declined. Robot stocks such as Roboteez (+4.6%) and Rainbow Robotics (+1.7%) were strong, while semiconductor-related stocks such as Simmtech (-3.7%), Wonik IPS (-3.4%), and Jusung Engineering (-2.7%) were weak.
