Strengthening K-Beauty's North American Expansion... K-Sure Provides $50 Million in Financing to Cosmax U.S. Subsidiary
Cosmax sees 57% surge in U.S. sales in first half
K-Sure provides over $200 million in financing for global expansion of K-culture companies this year
On September 3, Korea Trade Insurance Corporation (K-Sure) announced that it will provide US$50 million in working capital to Cosmax's U.S. subsidiary to strengthen K-beauty's presence in the North American market.
A K-Sure official explained, "Our goal is to help South Korean companies reinforce their position in the North American market by leveraging the global prestige that K-beauty has achieved," adding, "Cosmax's U.S. subsidiary has continued its rapid growth, with sales in the first half of this year increasing by 57% compared to the same period last year, thanks to new customer acquisitions and expanded orders from existing clients."
K-Sure expects this financial support to be instrumental in establishing a solid foundation for Cosmax in the North American market, as securing working capital is essential to respond promptly to local demand.
To further expand the global popularity of K-beauty, K-content, and other elements of K-culture, K-Sure is increasing its support for the cultural and consumer goods industries. Including this latest support measure, the total amount of financing provided by K-Sure this year to overseas subsidiaries of K-culture companies has now surpassed US$200 million.
