EY Hanyoung Signs MOU with Pathfinder to Enhance Independent Director Expertise
Specialized Training Program for Independent Director Candidates in the Era of ESG and AI Transformation
On September 3, global accounting and consulting firm EY Hanyoung announced that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Pathfinder, a company specializing in recommending independent directors and executives. The agreement aims to enhance the expertise of corporate boards and promote the spread of advanced governance practices among domestic companies. This move comes as market interest in corporate governance grows, along with an expanded role for board members.
The signing ceremony took place on September 2 at the EY Hanyoung Park One office in Yeouido, Seoul. Kwangyeol Lee, Head of Audit at EY Hanyoung, and Jaeho Kim, CEO of Pathfinder, were in attendance.

Going forward, Pathfinder will use its network of independent director and executive candidates to identify and recommend participants for training seminars. EY Hanyoung will draw on its expertise in accounting and finance, internal controls, risk management, ESG (environmental, social, and governance), and AI transformation to provide insights on regulatory trends and governance through specialized seminars.
The two companies plan to continuously advance related educational content and programs, so that boards of directors can make practical contributions to enhancing corporate value and managing risks. They also intend to broadly address key management issues such as board roles and responsibilities, the latest regulatory trends, internal controls, sustainable management, and AI transformation.
