Paju City to Provide Total of Six "Fine Housing" Units for Youth, Newlyweds, and Families
Paju-Style Public Housing at Lower-than-Market Prices
In-Person Applications Accepted from September 14 to 18
Four Youth Housing Units Fully Furnished
Residents May Stay for Up to 10 Years
Paju City in Gyeonggi Province is offering six public rental housing units at prices lower than the market rate to reduce the housing costs for young people, newlyweds, and families with multiple children.
On September 3, the city announced that it will be accepting applications for tenants of the "Fine (FINE) Housing Purchase-Type" from September 14 to 18.
The Fine Housing Purchase-Type is a Paju-style public housing project in which the city utilizes its public assets to provide homes to young people without homes, newlyweds, and families with multiple children at affordable rental terms.
This supply includes a total of six units: four youth housing units, one Jang-an Miu Apartment unit for newlyweds, and one Soejae Maeul Apartment unit for families with multiple children. The youth housing units in Beobwon-eup come furnished with essential items such as a refrigerator, air conditioner and heater, washing machine, bed, and storage furniture to reduce initial costs for tenants.
In anticipation of possible contract cancellations, the city will also select 12 preliminary candidates for tenant selection, which is twice the number of available units.
Applicants must be residents of Paju City who have lived there continuously for at least two years as of August 28, the date of the recruitment announcement, and must not own a home. Youth applicants must be between 19 and 39 years old. Newlywed couples are eligible if they have been married for up to seven years or are engaged to be married, while families with multiple children must have at least two minor children.
Tenants will not be selected by lottery but will be chosen in the order of the highest scores according to a point system for each applicant type. For youth applicants, the comprehensive evaluation includes the distance between home and workplace or place of business, length of employment or operation, length of residency in Paju, age, and other factors. Unemployed youth may also apply.
The rental deposit is 10% of the officially announced value of the unit, and the monthly rent is set at 1% of the annual official value. The initial lease term is two years, but with additional extensions for childbirth, residents may stay for up to 10 years.
Applicants must visit the Paju City Housing Welfare Center in person, located in the second annex of Paju City Hall. Online and postal applications are not accepted. For more information, visit the Paju City Hall website or contact the Housing Support Team in the Housing Division.
