Heungkuk F&B Makes 2 Billion Won Strategic Investment in Plato Robotics
Heungkuk F&B is making a strategic investment of 2 billion won in Plato Robotics.
According to Heungkuk F&B on September 3, the company plans to acquire convertible bonds worth a total of 2 billion won to be issued by Plato Robotics in three stages. The first round investment amount of 500 million won has been finalized, while the second round (1 billion won) and the third round (500 million won) will be executed sequentially based on the installation and evaluation of the new robotic beverage system and the fulfillment of precedent conditions outlined in the contract.
This investment goes beyond a simple financial commitment and is intended to formalize business cooperation between the two companies. Heungkuk F&B has secured the exclusive sales rights in Korea for the new robotic beverage system for cafes through a separate exclusive distribution agreement with Plato Robotics. The agreement also includes provisions for potential exports through mutual consultation. Heungkuk F&B will have sales priority for existing and new equipment developed and sold by Plato Robotics that are related to its line of business.
In particular, Heungkuk F&B intends to expand synergies with its existing B2B sales network by gaining priority sales opportunities for Plato Robotics’ relevant equipment across major F&B service channels, including hotels, resorts, restaurants, cafes, franchise chains, and corporate clients.
The new beverage system currently under development by Plato Robotics is a robotic automation system for cafes that integrates a cup dispenser, ice maker, automatic coffee machine, ingredient and sauce dispensers, robot, and integrated control system into a single platform. The system features automated beverage production based on recipes, AI-driven task scheduling, remote monitoring, and failure management, achieving process automation and operational efficiency in beverage preparation.
