Trump: "Iran Strikes Won't Last Long"
"Iran Attempted to Rebuild Radar and Missile Systems"
Draws a Line Against Prolonged Military Operations
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on the 2nd (local time) that the recently resumed military operations against Iran would not be prolonged. However, he warned that the United States is prepared to launch additional strikes at any time should Iran attempt to rebuild its military facilities.
President Trump, meeting with reporters in the Oval Office that day, was asked how long the U.S. military operation against Iran would continue. He replied, "It won't go on for too long." He added, "I don't know how much longer they can endure, but it doesn't matter how long it takes."
President Trump claimed that the latest strikes were launched because Iran had shown attempts to restore its military capabilities.
He stated, "Iran tried to reconstruct its radar systems, missile systems, and mine-laying systems," adding, "In particular, they sought to manufacture rockets capable of laying mines."
He continued by emphasizing that the rockets were "almost completed, so we eliminated them," highlighting, "Last night's strike was very powerful." He further warned, "We are ready to strike again whenever we want."
The U.S. military struck air defense networks, radar installations, maritime facilities, and mine-laying capabilities along Iran's southern coast starting the previous day. As both sides exchanged attacks, this confrontation escalated into the largest-scale military exchange between the U.S. and Iran since July.
Iran also responded by launching missile and drone attacks targeting U.S.-related facilities in Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Iraq. According to the U.S. authorities' initial reports, no American casualties were confirmed.
