Jeonju Nambu Market is one of the traditional markets selected for the second phase of the "K-Tourism Market" program this year.
This event is characterized by its connection to the football match between Jeonbuk Hyundai and Pohang Steelers, which will take place at 7 p.m. on the 5th, aiming to encourage sports fans to visit the market. Through stadium screens and online and offline promotions, the Nambu Market night market and the "Smile! Traditional Market Project for Enjoying Culture Until Dawn" will be publicized. The first 1,000 visitors who come to the market wearing either team's uniform and share their visit on social media will receive a traditional market voucher worth 5,000 won.
Improvements to market services will also be promoted. Commercial transaction environments will be enhanced with four core services: fixed price system, welcoming card payments, cleanliness and hygiene, and kindness. Additionally, the first 1,000 visitors who present receipts for purchases of 10,000 won or more will receive a 5,000 won voucher. Market goods such as shopping totes and tarpaulin bags will also be provided through a roulette event.
The key highlight of the event is the "All-Day Trip," which continues from the evening through the next dawn. On the 5th, from 5 p.m. to midnight, about a 100-meter section from Pungnammun Intersection toward the Antique Alley will temporarily be designated as a car-free zone. Various areas such as the night market street, Youth Mall, and the horticulture market will be transformed into cultural spaces under the "Moijang" concept. By linking the dawn market and morning businesses, the market will be structured as a single tourism route.
In the evening, visitors can enjoy food streets at the night market and performances at Youth Mall and Moijang. At Moijang, guests who purchase drinks or alcohol can enjoy their food while watching a music performance starting at 8 p.m.
Late at night, movies will be screened at the Sky Garden rooftop of Nambu Market. "La La Land" will be shown at 10 p.m. and "Little Forest" at midnight, with seats provided on a first-come, first-served basis for 40 viewers per screening. Visitors who did not make a reservation can also enjoy the movie freely if they bring their own mats. After the movies, guests can head to the dawn market on the 6th to enjoy Jeonju's signature dishes, including bean sprout soup and blood sausage with rice soup.
