The Korea Artificial Intelligence and Software Industry Association (KOSA) announced on September 2 that the “Korea Full-Stack AI Consortium”—operated by the association—has successfully completed a proof of concept (PoC) by applying full-stack AI to industrial field cases at Aramco Digital in Saudi Arabia.

This proof of concept was carried out based on the “AI Full-Stack Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)” signed in February between KOSA, the Korea Full-Stack AI Consortium, and Aramco Digital.

The Korea Full-Stack AI Consortium, operated by KOSA, is a collaborative body with participation from domestic companies in the fields of AI semiconductors, cloud infrastructure, large language models (LLM), AI application services, and integrated operations management. A total of seven companies—Megazone Cloud, FuriosaAI, Rebellions, Upstage, LG AI Research, NC AI, and Uracle—participated in this proof of concept.

The technical validation was conducted in phases (first and second stages) based on industrial use cases jointly identified with Aramco Digital. It was designed to verify the feasibility of applying Korean full-stack AI technology to industrial sites by connecting the hardware, models, services, and operational management capabilities of domestic companies.

Junhee Cho, Chairman of KOSA, said, “This proof of concept is significant in that domestic AI companies collectively examined real market demand in overseas industrial fields by combining their specialized technologies.” He added, “When AI infrastructure and models are excessively dependent on specific external services, there can be operational risks due to policy changes, sanctions, or service restrictions. Therefore, from a sovereign AI perspective, it is crucial to secure independent AI infrastructure, models, and operational management capabilities.”
