The ceremony was attended by Jeong Myunggeun, Mayor of Hwaseong, along with representatives from the Hwaseong Regional Chapter of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions, the Hwaseong City Council, the Gyeonggi Regional Employment and Labor Office, and 11 other institutions representing labor, management, and government—a total of 15 organizations. The attendees pledged to fulfill their joint responsibilities and roles in order to realize labor-management co-prosperity, strengthen industrial safety, and practice Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management.
The core of the joint declaration is "3 Zero"—Zero Discrimination, Zero Inequality, and Zero Accidents. This represents the commitment to establishing a labor environment without discrimination, inequality, or accidents.
To achieve this, the parties agreed to jointly: ▲ establish a proactive industrial accident prevention system using smart technologies ▲ implement ESG management to secure companies' future competitiveness ▲ build peaceful and rational labor-management relations in response to the evolving labor law environment.
Labor, management, and government will work together to reduce industrial accidents by introducing artificial intelligence (AI)-based risk prediction systems and smart safety equipment. Companies will also expand investments to replace outdated equipment and to upgrade safety and health management systems.
Efforts will be made to reduce discrimination and inequality experienced by vulnerable groups, such as irregular workers and migrant laborers, at worksites. Both companies and workers will unite to foster a sustainable industrial environment, such as through the joint implementation of carbon neutrality.
Cooperation will also be strengthened to minimize confusion and conflict in the field resulting from labor law changes. Labor and management will build rational labor relations based on dialogue and compromise, while the Ministry of Employment and Labor and Hwaseong City will expand labor and legal education and support for the prevention of disputes.
