and the Presidential Office in Sejong
Kim Minseok, leader of the Democratic Party, has begun a nationwide tour starting with Sejong ahead of the upcoming budget session. He plans to visit each metropolitan city and province sequentially until early next month in order to review key regional issues and national-funded projects.
On September 2, Kim held both the Supreme Council meeting and the Budget Policy Council in Sejong, stating, "Completing Sejong as the administrative capital is the 50th national agenda item of Lee Jaemyung's government for national sovereignty, and it is the No. 1 task among land and space transformation tasks." He added, "The National Assembly will complete the legal foundation for the administrative capital."

In fact, in its budget proposal for next year, the government plans to expand the budget for the presidential office in Sejong to 205.7 billion won, more than eight times this year’s allocation, and also inject 119.1 billion won for the construction of the Sejong National Assembly Building.
To this end, the Democratic Party announced that it would accelerate the enactment of a special law on the administrative capital within this year. Kim asked the party floor leaders to review whether the special law can be handled through bipartisan agreement.
