Dunamu Receives 56th Korea Customs Service Commissioner Award for Active Cooperation Against Trade Crimes Involving Misuse of Coins
Employees of Dunamu, the operator of the virtual asset exchange Upbit, have been recognized for their active technical support and investigative cooperation in response to new types of trade crimes involving the misuse of virtual assets.
On September 2, Dunamu announced that its employees received the Commissioner of the Korea Customs Service Award in celebration of the 56th anniversary of the organization's founding. Every year on July 27, the Korea Customs Service selects and awards individuals who have contributed to the advancement of customs administration and the establishment of national economic order.
Soh Minseop, Head of FDI at Dunamu, and Kim Seongyong, Researcher at the FDI team, have actively provided technical support and expert advice to the Korea Customs Service in tracing illicit foreign exchange transactions and criminal proceeds. In particular, they conducted in-depth analyses of the Korea Customs Service's key virtual asset-related investigations and shared practical crime analysis expertise with investigators and staff, significantly enhancing the digital investigative capabilities of the customs administration.
Additionally, Dunamu has played a central role in establishing a robust public-private cooperation system with the Korea Customs Service, overhauling a collaborative response system to combat the increasingly sophisticated digital asset-linked trade crimes and improving the effectiveness of foreign exchange crime enforcement.
