Song is a financial and insurance expert with 36 years of experience in financial policy and insurance systems.
He began his public service career in 1988 at the Insurance Systems Division of the Ministry of Finance and later served as Head of the Innovation Administration and Human Resources Team, Director of the Financial Intelligence Unit, and Audit Officer at the Financial Services Commission. He also held the positions of Executive Director at the Korea Life Insurance Association and Business CEO at the National Credit Union Federation of Korea.
With changes in the insurance sales channel system and the growing importance of consumer protection and internal controls as pressing issues, the industry expects that Song's appointment will strengthen communication between the GA industry and financial authorities.
Song stated, "I feel a great sense of responsibility in taking on the significant role of the association's Vice President at a crucial time when insurance sales channels are rapidly evolving, and social demands for consumer protection and strengthened internal controls are increasing."
He added, "Drawing on the experience and network I have built over 36 years across both the public and private sectors, I will actively communicate with financial authorities and related organizations. I will do my utmost to promote the sound development of the GA industry and become a stepping stone for the growth of our member companies."
