In particular, he stressed that 'trust' is both a prerequisite and a decisive factor for taking the next step, and reminded that no matter how the financial landscape evolves, financial institutions are ultimately evaluated based on customer trust.
He also underscored the need for thorough preparation for the era of artificial intelligence (AI). Chairman Jin stated, "In the future, true competitiveness will depend not merely on how well we utilize AI, but on how well we can design AI that customers can trust." He predicted that in the AI era, the object of trust will expand to include 'AI agents' that compare products and conduct investment and transactions on behalf of customers.
Chairman Jin highlighted the importance of internal controls as well. He reiterated, "Losing trust is equivalent to losing future growth opportunities," and added, "Sustainable progress for Shinhan can be achieved only when all areas—including internal controls, profitability, market position, customer base, organizational culture, and AX—support each other and fulfill their respective roles."
