The Chunghwa Nonghyup Cooperative Shipping Association was highly praised for establishing a systematic safety and quality management system from production to collective sorting and shipping under the theme of “GAP-Certified Agricultural Products Recognized Overseas,” as well as for promoting export expansion.
In the production category of this year’s contest, 11 organizations from across the country participated, and after document review, on-site assessment, and presentations, five organizations received awards.
As of the end of June, Sangju City has 4,985 farms certified under GAP and a certified area of 5,368 hectares, representing the largest certification scale in North Gyeongsang Province. The city is also strengthening the foundation for safe agricultural production by providing GAP training and consulting, as well as supporting analyses of soil and water safety.
Sangju Mayor An Jaemin said, “This achievement is the result of the joint efforts of farmers, the cooperative, and the administration,” adding, “We will strive to further expand GAP certification to enhance the reputation and competitiveness of Sangju’s agricultural products and to increase the income of farming households.”
