"The Era of Pure Stock Trading Is Over"... Meritz Securities Launches ‘MOUM’ Integrating AI and Global Investors
Meritz Securities has unveiled a new financial platform that integrates investment information, a global community, and artificial intelligence (AI) into its mobile trading system (MTS), which has traditionally focused on stock trading. The strategy is to expand touchpoints with individual investors by providing communication between domestic and international investors, AI-based investment information analysis, and stock trading—all within a single platform.
On September 1, Meritz Securities officially launched its new financial platform, MOUM, at the "MOUM Launch Event" held at the Fairmont Ambassador Seoul in Yeouido, Seoul.
MOUM is a platform that Meritz Securities has developed over approximately one and a half years. Its distinguishing feature is the combination of investment information, a global investment community, and AI services with the existing stock trading functions of the MTS.
Key services can be accessed without a separate login, and users can participate in the community as associate members through social login. By linking Meritz Securities' Super365, an online-exclusive comprehensive investment account, users are upgraded to full membership, allowing them to trade stocks, access holdings information, and use AI analysis—all within a single interface.
For example, an investor holding shares of NVIDIA can use MOUM to check earnings announcements, AI semiconductor demand, news about new products, and even review responses from domestic and international investors. AI can summarize key points from earnings results, news, and reports, and users can ask additional questions via AI chat. Depending on their investment decision after analysis, users can proceed to trading stocks on the same platform.
The global investment community is another differentiating feature. Meritz Securities has integrated its own stock communities with those of Stocktwits, a US-based social investment platform, and Webull, a global fintech company.
This allows domestic investors to observe the opinions and market reactions of overseas investors while identifying global investment trends and ideas.
The provision of investment information services using finance-specialized AI has also been enhanced. Customers who link their accounts can view news, community posts, and notifications related to their holdings and watchlist items in one place. The AI summarizes key contents of company earnings, news, and reports, and further details can be explored through AI chat.
MOUM is built as a cloud-based open platform. Meritz Securities collaborated with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to improve scalability and flexibility in the cloud environment and announced that it is the first Korean financial company to be selected for "Win-Wires," an AWS global best practice case.
Jang Uk Lee, Executive Managing Director and Head of Inno-Biz Group at Meritz Securities, remarked, "MOUM aims to go beyond the typical trading apps of traditional securities firms. It is not just about adding a single AI function, but rather evolving into a next-generation open platform where diverse services are organically connected."
