KISA to Pilot AI Agents in Cyber Crisis Drill for Real-World Threat Response
Applications Accepted Until October 2
The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) is now accepting applications from companies wishing to participate in a cyber crisis response drill utilizing artificial intelligence (AI).
KISA announced on September 1 that, together with the Ministry of Science and ICT, it is publicly recruiting companies to take part in the "Second Half of 2026 Cyber Crisis Response Drill."
KISA conducts cyber crisis response drills in the first and second halves of every year to strengthen private sector companies' ability to respond to cyber threats.
This year, AI will be piloted for simulated penetration tests targeting corporate websites during the second-half drill. Unlike the previous approach, where white-hat hackers manually probed systems, AI agents will generate attack scenarios tailored to each website and check for a wide range of potential penetration methods.
Participating companies will receive detailed response guidelines and the latest incident trend reports for each drill sector after completion of the exercise, which they can use to improve their incident response systems. They may also include their participation in the drill as part of their information security activities when disclosing information under the Information Security Disclosure System.
The application period runs from September 1 through October 2. The exercise will be held from October 19 to October 30.

We encourage many companies to participate and use this as an opportunity to inspect and improve their response systems."
