The Korea Institute of Patent Technology Promotion recently held a board of directors meeting and appointed Younghee Lim, former Chief Judge at the Intellectual Property Trial and Appeal Board, as the new President. President Lim officially took office on September 1, 2026.
Born in Gwangju in 1968, President Lim graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Hanyang University and obtained a master's degree in Patent Law from Chungnam National University Law School.

View original imagePresident Lim is an intellectual property expert who holds a patent attorney qualification. She has held key positions in intellectual property administration and trials, including roles related to cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), serving as a technical judge at the Patent Court, head of Trial Policy at the Intellectual Property Trial and Appeal Board, and as director of the Electronics and Telecommunications Examination Bureau and Bio-Chemical Examination Bureau at the Korean Intellectual Property Office (now the Ministry of Intellectual Property).
