Yuyu Pharma Accelerates Introduction of Robots into Jecheon Plant Production Processes
Selected for Advanced Manufacturing Robot Demonstration Project
Yuyu Pharma announced on September 1 that it has been selected for the Advanced Manufacturing Robot Demonstration Project, overseen by the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and will accelerate the introduction of robots into its manufacturing processes at the Jecheon plant.
Yuyu Pharma plans to implement robotic automation in the secondary packaging process of its specialized omega soft capsule pharmaceuticals. This includes the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) vision inspection equipment, multi-vision automatic aggregation and product boxing using articulated robots, as well as cartoners, sealers, and labeling machines.
The Advanced Manufacturing Robot Demonstration Project aims to accelerate the digital transformation of the manufacturing sector by demonstrating 'robot process models.' Up to 200 million won in government funding is available for manufacturing industries that require robotics to improve their production environments.

Noyong Park, CEO of Yuyu Pharma, stated, "By introducing robots into our production processes, we expect not only significant quantitative improvements such as increased productivity, lower defect rates, and cost reductions, but also qualitative effects such as creating a safer workplace to prevent musculoskeletal disorders and alleviating work burden for employees, thereby enhancing flexibility in production operations."
