"Error Occurred During Statistical Compilation"
The Financial Supervisory Service identified a statistical error in the credit finance companies’ business performance data released last week and corrected the relevant figures on August 31.
According to the agency, an error occurred during the compilation of figures for credit card loan usage and long-term card loan (card loan) usage in the first half of this year.
As a result, the credit card loan usage amount for the first half was revised downward to 50.7 trillion won, from the previously announced 56.1 trillion won. Year-on-year change, initially announced as an increase of 4.6 trillion won (9.0%), was revised to an actual decrease of 800 billion won (-1.5%).

The card loan usage amount was also adjusted downward from 28 trillion won to 22.6 trillion won. The year-on-year change, previously reported as an increase of 4.8 trillion won (20.9%), was corrected to a decrease of 600 billion won (-2.4%).
