'Dukshin E&C, Global No.1 Deck Plate Provider, Breaks into U.S. Semiconductor Factories...A Hidden Beneficiary of Data Centers'
As the expansion of semiconductor factories and artificial intelligence (AI) data centers accelerates worldwide, the market for deck plates—a steel construction material—also continues to grow. Dukshin E&C, the leading deck plate company in Korea, is drawing attention as a beneficiary, as it expands its supply territory from domestic semiconductor production facilities to U.S. semiconductor factories.
Dukshin E&C is a company that manufactures and installs construction deck plates. Deck plates are steel structures used to support floor slabs during concrete pouring, and they are essential materials for building large industrial facilities such as semiconductor factories and AI data centers.
In particular, semiconductor fabs and AI data centers often require steel frame structures to withstand the heavy loads of large-scale equipment and facilities, resulting in higher demand for deck plates compared to general buildings.
Dukshin E&C has established its technological edge not only in the domestic market but also in overseas markets. In 2012, the company registered patents related to deck plate insulation fasteners and deck plate-to-column connections, thereby securing construction technology. Since then, it has obtained related patents in Vietnam, Japan, and China, further expanding its presence in foreign markets.
Recently, Dukshin E&C has also entered the U.S. semiconductor infrastructure market. In June, it became the first Korean company to begin supplying Korean-style integrated deck plates to U.S. semiconductor production facilities. The company was recognized for laying the groundwork for targeting the North American semiconductor infrastructure market, after supplying products to the U.S. facility of Amkor Technology, the world's second-largest outsourced semiconductor assembly and test company.
Preparations in advance also played a key role in its entry into the U.S. market. Dukshin E&C had been preparing for UL certification for approximately 10 years and reportedly became the first Korean company to obtain the relevant certification.
In Korea as well, Dukshin E&C continues to expand its supply record related to semiconductors and data centers. It is strengthening its order base by supplying deck plates to Samsung Electronics and SK hynix's Pyeongtaek and Yongin semiconductor campuses, as well as to the construction of the Ulsan data center.
The company’s production capacity is expected to become a competitive advantage as large-scale projects begin in earnest. Dukshin E&C has production bases in Cheonan and Gunsan, securing an annual production capacity of approximately 16.2 million square meters, thus enabling it to respond to the large-scale demand in the global market.
The global expansion of semiconductor investment also creates a favorable environment. According to research firm Global Market Insights, the size of the global semiconductor factory construction market is expected to grow from USD 47.2 billion last year to USD 59.3 billion this year, and reach USD 85 billion by 2035. As both semiconductor production facilities and AI data center construction grow simultaneously, demand for related building materials is also likely to rise.
Dukshin E&C plans to actively target the high value-added industrial facility market for semiconductors and data centers, leveraging its strengths in production and installation secured in the deck plate market. In particular, now that it has a performance record supplying U.S. semiconductor production facilities, additional orders in North America could serve as a new growth engine.
There is also a notable aspect in terms of valuation. Dukshin E&C recently conducted a reverse stock split to stabilize its share price and enhance shareholder value. Its current price-to-book ratio (PBR) is around 0.48, indicating that its share price remains low relative to its book value.
