The Mega Growth Special Committee, Most Important Among 'Mega Ten'
No More Double Neglect for Northern Gyeonggi and Gangwon Border Regions
The Democratic Party of Korea held the inaugural meeting of the Mega Project and Local Growth Support Special Committee (Mega Growth Special Committee) on the 31st and announced plans to also provide support for areas near Seoul, such as the northern part of Gyeonggi Province and border regions of Gangwon Province.
Kim Minseok, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated at the first meeting of the Mega Growth Special Committee held at the National Assembly on this day, "We have announced that the ten special organizations related to our party's direction will collectively be called 'Mega Ten.' The most important organization at the national, party, and government levels is, in fact, the Mega Growth Special Committee, which is officially holding its first meeting today."

This is a new concept our party is implementing for the first time."

Kim further explained, "The so-called capital region, northern Gyeonggi Province, Seoul, and Incheon have been excluded from the mega project. In the past, these areas have felt alienated due to their proximity to Seoul. If this situation continues even in the era of local growth, there is concern about a sense of double exclusion. Therefore, we are newly recognizing the need to include the northern Gyeonggi Province and border areas of Gangwon Province."
