Kyongnam Bank Launches Donation Campaign for Flood-Affected Geoje and Tongyeong
Employees Support Recovery Through Donations and Regional Visits
BNK Kyongnam Bank announced on August 31 that it will carry out the "Geoje·Tongyeong Love DNA (Donation & Activity)" campaign, making donations to Geoje and Tongyeong in South Gyeongsang Province, which have recently been affected by flooding, until November 30.
The bank explained that the campaign aims to support the recovery and economic revitalization of the region, by encouraging employees to voluntarily participate in donations to the disaster-affected areas, visits to the regions, and the use of local businesses.
First, the "Hometown Love Donation" will be carried out as a designated donation to support recovery efforts from heavy rain damage. Employees can independently choose to donate at least 100,000 won to either Geoje or Tongyeong.
As part of the "Hometown Love Practice" activities, employees will individually participate in revitalizing the local economy by visiting or traveling to Geoje·Tongyeong and utilizing local businesses in the area in a voluntary manner.
Kyongnam Bank stated that, based on voluntary participation from employees, it plans to pursue genuine regional coexistence activities that go beyond donations to include visits and spending in the affected areas.
On August 19, Kyongnam Bank dispatched an emergency volunteer group to Geoje for flood recovery support and provided disaster relief kits, and continues to pursue various support measures for the ongoing recovery from disasters and calamities occurring in the region.
