Innovation Party’s Lee Haemin Appointed Senior AI Secretary, Says “Will Not Stop Moving Forward for Lee Jaemyung Administration’s Success”
Kim Hyung-yeon Expected to Succeed Proportional Representative Seat
On August 30, Lee Hae-min, a member of the Innovation Party for Justice, was selected as the Senior Presidential Secretary for AI Future Planning at the Blue House. As a result, Kim Hyung-yeon, a senior member of the Innovation Party, is expected to succeed Lee's proportional representation seat in the National Assembly.

View original imageOn the same day, Assemblyman Lee announced through Facebook his acceptance of the appointment, stating, "For the success of the Lee Jae-myung administration and the success of the Republic of Korea, I will not stop moving forward."
He added, "As Lee Hae-min, transitioning from a lawmaker to a presidential secretary, I will serve as the control tower leading the national AI strategy under the Lee Jae-myung administration, specifically driving industrial innovation and service changes that the public can experience firsthand. I will do my utmost to elevate Korea’s AI competitiveness to the highest global standards and ensure that all citizens feel the benefits of AI."
With Lee’s departure from the National Assembly, Kim Hyung-yeon is expected to succeed him as the Innovation Party’s proportional representative. Kim, who is a former judge, previously served as Legal Affairs Secretary at the Blue House during the Moon Jae-in administration in 2017 and was appointed as the head of the Ministry of Government Legislation in 2019.
