The Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association (KWEA) has expressed its welcome for the Lee Jae-myung administration's nomination of Lee Soyoung, a lawmaker from the Democratic Party of Korea, as the candidate for Minister of SMEs and Startups.
On the 30th, KWEA released a statement, saying, "The nomination of a female politician born in 1985 as a candidate to oversee SME and startup policies is highly meaningful." The association added, "We hope she will actively support innovative growth and the securing of new growth engines for small and medium-sized enterprises with the perspective of the younger generation and female leadership."

KWEA stated, "Candidate Lee is a legal expert with a background as a lawyer and a two-term lawmaker, who has developed an understanding of and experience with SME and venture policies through her activities on the National Assembly's Trade, Industry, Energy, and SMEs Committee."
KWEA also highlighted her efforts in formulating policies for sustainable growth and industrial transformation, such as sponsoring the 'Framework Act on Carbon Neutrality.' The association noted, "At a time when the fields of environment, climate, and energy are becoming increasingly important for sustainable growth and future competitiveness of SMEs, such expertise and experience are expected to be well incorporated into SME and startup policies."
