First in the Industry to Publish Report in 2011
"Sincere ESG Management, Strengthened Stakeholder Communication"
CEO Shin Chang-jae: "Pursuing Sustainable Management through Co-Prosperity with Stakeholders"
Kyobo Life Insurance announced on August 30 that it has published its "2026 Sustainability Management Report," which details the company's sustainability management performance and activities over the past year.
This year's report, now in its 16th edition, features in-depth coverage of key initiatives implemented last year, including: ▲protection of financial consumers ▲improvement of financial inclusion and accessibility ▲personal information protection ▲climate change risk management, among others.
Kyobo Life Insurance pursues the protection of financial consumers by reflecting consumer rights throughout the entire process, from product development to post-sale management. Last year, the company divided related organizations by function—such as consumer protection support, internal controls, and complaint handling—to further enhance expertise.
The company also strengthened its support by operating digital service desks at customer centers, providing nighttime consultation services, streamlining claim procedures for indemnity insurance, offering welfare support to social workers, and reinforcing consumer protection systems for financially vulnerable groups.
Communication with stakeholders was also enhanced. Kyobo Life Insurance organized the content of its report around commitments and principles for stakeholders including customers, financial planners (FPs), employees, investors, affiliates and partners, government agencies, and local communities.
Shin Chang-Jae, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Kyobo Life Insurance, stated in his message, "We will faithfully advance stakeholder-focused management based on our sustainability management philosophy that seeks balanced growth for all stakeholders."
Kyobo Life Insurance is sincerely carrying out its sustainability management philosophy, which is "to pursue shared development with all stakeholders." Since 2011, when it became the first company in Korea's life insurance industry to publish a Sustainability Management Report, the company has transparently disclosed its major activities and achievements every year across the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) spectrum.
In particular, after the 2012 shareholders' meeting, Kyobo Life Insurance articulated its commitment to "stakeholder-centered management" in the preamble of its articles of incorporation, and has been implementing its sustainability philosophy of pursuing shared growth with all stakeholders ever since.

As a result of maintaining this philosophy, Kyobo Life Insurance ranked first in the life insurance category for the 16th consecutive year in the "Korean Sustainability Index" by the Korean Standards Association last year. It also received Consumer-Centered Management (CCM) certification for the 10th consecutive time, as well as the Presidential Citation awarded by the Fair Trade Commission during the same year.
