"K-pop Meets AI Technology"... 'GES·Entertech Seoul' to Be Held at Dongdaemun
Integrating Advanced Technologies into Music, Games, and Media Content
K-pop Performances and Forums to Take Place
Investment Attraction Programs Strengthened
'GES·Entertech Seoul 2026,' an event where K-content and cutting-edge technology come together under one roof, will be held from September 17 to 20 at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) and the area surrounding JW Marriott Dongdaemun.
The term 'Entertech' refers to an industry field that fuses entertainment and technology, creating new content, experiences, and business models by applying advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), extended reality (XR), and virtual reality (VR) to entertainment fields including music, games, and media.
'Entertech, Seoul,' first launched last year, will hold its second edition this year, while 'GES (Game E-sports, Seoul)' returns for its third year. Previously, Entertech has demonstrated the convergence potential of 'content × technology,' and GES has explored 'games & e-sports × industry.' This year, the two events will be integrated into one grand opening, showcasing the latest expansion trends of the content industry on a single stage.
This year, in particular, K-pop emerges as a new central pillar. Citizens and industry players alike will be able to experience firsthand how different content, technologies, and industries converge to create new experiences and markets.
Furthermore, the global content business market 'SPP International Content Market' will also be linked to the event, connecting content experiences directly to business opportunities. The event will expand into an industry-oriented festival where the public can experience future content firsthand, while companies can pursue collaboration, investment, market development, and overseas expansion.
During the event, programs will include: ▲ exhibitions and experiences combining K-pop with advanced technologies such as AI and XR ▲ fusion content merging games with other industries such as mobility ▲ e-sports tournaments and citizen participation programs ▲ forums discussing the future of the content industry ▲ K-pop performances ▲ and business programs with global buyers and investors.
Notably, VR content featuring artists from SM Entertainment and immersive VR content utilizing the IP of Fifty Fifty, managed by Attrakt, will be presented. The K-pop showcase, held in conjunction with the SPP, will feature eight emerging artist teams from small and medium-sized entertainment companies based in Seoul, who will have business consultations with overseas performance planners.
Investment attraction programs will also be further strengthened. At the investment consultation meeting associated with the Seoul Content Investment Council, content companies and investment firms will conduct one-on-one customized investment consultations. In addition, the 'Buyers Club' will be introduced to showcase outstanding content companies' IP to global buyers.
