According to the report, on August 29, the Gyeongsan Police conducted a search of the location where 31-year-old Chinese lecturer Jung, the suspect, testified to having discarded the body, and discovered additional remains of the victim. It has been reported that Jung is relatively cooperating with police, providing statements regarding the disposal sites.
Although the police have found additional parts of the body, they have not concluded the search and intend to recover as much of the remains as possible. A police official told Yonhap News Agency, "Even if a site has already been discovered, the search is not finished—we have to keep checking," adding, "It will likely be difficult to recover all of the remains before the case is forwarded to the prosecution."
The police have also secured GPS records detailing Jung's movements during the disposal of the body and are analyzing his actions before and after the crime.
Once the police finish procedures such as forensics on seized items, corroborating the suspect's statements, and recovering the body, they are considering referring Jung to the prosecution sometime next week. The exact date has not yet been determined.
