Lisens Medical to Debut 'COOLOA 600' on GS Home Shopping... Mija, Known for 'Sell-Out Broadcasts', to Appear
Precision cooling technology company Lisens Medical (Co-CEOs Geonho Kim and Euikyung Choi) will launch its proprietary cooling technology-based beauty device, 'COOLOA 600', exclusively on GS Home Shopping at 8 a.m. on Saturday, August 29.
Popular TV personality Mija, known for selling out products on home shopping broadcasts, will appear for the first airing. Having tested the COOLOA 600 herself, Mija will share instructions for use and her own experience with viewers during the broadcast.
During the broadcast, a special exclusive home shopping package will be presented. The set includes the device itself, two sets of Booster Regen Lift Ampoules, and a Booster Cream. COOLOA 600 was first released in July through Naver Smart Store. Since then, consumer interest has grown rapidly following a detailed review video released by beauty YouTuber Director Pi, who has one million subscribers.
What sets COOLOA 600 apart from existing home beauty devices is its 'cooling' feature. While most devices on the market use heat-based technologies such as ultrasound and radio frequency (RF), Lisens Medical has incorporated the precision cooling technology it accumulated in the medical device field into this home beauty device. With a growing number of positive reviews online, the company now plans to expand consumer touchpoints through this GS Home Shopping launch.
The product utilizes the company's independently developed 'Ice Needling (PIPD)' technology. This method cools the skin using micro ice particles while also assisting in the absorption of key active ingredients in the dedicated ampoule. Lisens Medical stated that it is primarily targeting female consumers in their 30s to 50s with clinic experience, highlighting its core competitiveness: allowing clinic-level care to be experienced at home.
Lisens Medical's cooling technology is rooted in its experience developing medical devices. The company is a KOSDAQ-listed medical device firm that develops cooling medical equipment using technology to rapidly and precisely control ultra-low temperature refrigerants. It became the first Korean medical device manufacturer to receive De Novo approval from the U.S. FDA. The COOLOA 600 is the company’s first product to expand these healthcare-grade cooling technologies into the consumer home beauty segment.
This product launch demonstrates an effort to broaden the application of its proprietary cooling technology, accumulated through medical device development, into new product categories.
The relevant market continues to grow. According to the Meritz Securities Research Center, the global home beauty device market is projected to grow from approximately 7 trillion won in 2024 at an average annual rate of 36%, reaching around 45 trillion won by 2030. According to Expert Market Research (EMR), the Korean beauty device market is expected to reach about USD 1.5 billion (KRW 2.1765 trillion) in 2025 and grow at an average annual rate of 13.8% to hit approximately USD 5.46 billion (KRW 7.9225 trillion) by 2035.
Key drivers for growth in the domestic market include the global expansion of K-beauty culture, increased demand for home beauty devices, and government initiatives supporting the bio-health industry. Lisens Medical is similarly expanding its business footprint in the home beauty market by leveraging its medical device technology capabilities.
