LG Donates 1 Billion Won for Southern Flood Recovery, Mobilizes Affiliates for On-Site Support

LG Group announced on August 28 that it has donated 1 billion won to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association to support the swift recovery and aid for those affected by the recent heavy rainfall in southern regions such as Busan, Gyeongnam, Jeonnam, and Gwangju. The donation will be used for the rapid restoration of facilities in flood-affected areas and for emergency relief activities for residents impacted by the disaster.
In addition to the donation, LG will also provide practical supplies to disaster victims on site. Through the Korean Red Cross, LG plans to support those staying in temporary shelters with emergency relief kits, consisting of blankets, emergency clothing, and daily necessities. Since 2022, LG has collaborated with the Korean Red Cross to produce and quickly distribute 2,000 emergency relief kits annually as part of a system designed for swift assistance to disaster victims in times of natural disasters.
Key LG affiliates are also joining efforts to minimize inconvenience for residents in the affected regions. LG Electronics has deployed specially equipped vehicles for flood response, operating direct repair services that visit flooded households and support cleaning and component replacement for water-damaged home appliances. LG Uplus will establish Wi-Fi networks in evacuation shelters and provide mobile phone battery charging stations to ensure a smooth communication environment for evacuees.
