Jeonnam-Gwangju Office of Education Announces Successful Candidates for the Second Equivalency Examination
Average Pass Rates: Jeonnam 81.6%, Gwangju 87.0%
The Jeonnam Gwangju Integrated Special City Office of Education announced the successful candidates for the "2026 Second Elementary, Middle, and High School Equivalency Examination" on August 28 through its website.
In the examination held on August 11, 655 out of 802 test-takers in the Jeonnam region passed, resulting in a pass rate of 81.67% among 935 applicants. By educational level: ▲Elementary 48 (63.16%) ▲Middle 102 (87.93%) ▲High 505 (82.79%).
In the Gwangju region, 1,217 out of 1,399 test-takers passed, translating to a pass rate of 86.99% among 1,609 applicants. The number of successful candidates by level is as follows: ▲Elementary 101 (93.52%) ▲Middle 194 (92.82%) ▲High 922 (85.21%).
The oldest successful candidates in this exam were: in Jeonnam, ▲Elementary 81 years old ▲Middle 80 years old ▲High 80 years old; in Gwangju, ▲Elementary 71 years old ▲Middle 75 years old ▲High 77 years old.
The list of successful candidates and individual scores can be checked on the Integrated Special City Office of Education website until September 18. For Jeonnam, certificates will be sent by mail, while in Gwangju, individuals can receive their certificates either by mail or directly from the Exam Management Office at Gwangju headquarters until September 18.

Certificates of passing and transcripts can be issued online via the National Education Information System (NEIS) public service starting on the day of announcement, August 28. Issuance is also available through unmanned certificate issuing kiosks at elementary, middle, and high schools nationwide, education office civil service centers, and administrative welfare centers.
