Will After-Hours ETF Trading Be Blocked on the Korea Exchange?
ETF Trading Expected to Be Blocked
in After-Hours Market Launching Next Month
It has been reported that Exchange Traded Products (ETPs) will not be traded in the Korea Exchange (KRX) after-hours market (4:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.) set to launch next month.
According to financial investment industry sources on August 27, financial authorities and the Korea Exchange are currently working to include exchange traded products in the list of items excluded from trading in the revised operational rules for the soon-to-be-announced launch of the after-hours market.
If this happens, trading of exchange traded funds (ETFs), exchange traded notes (ETNs), and other exchange traded products will be blocked during after-hours sessions.
The Korea Exchange is currently preparing to launch the after-hours market, which will operate from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. starting on September 14.
