Suncheon City Passes Preliminary Feasibility Study for National Road No. 2 Bypass Construction Project
4.6 km Section Connecting Yeondong Samgeori, Hyosarang Hospital, and Haeryong IC
Suncheon City, Gwangju-Jeonnam Special Integrated City, announced on August 26 that the 'National Road No. 2 Replacement Bypass Construction Project', which has been promoted to resolve traffic congestion on National Road No. 2 that passes through the city center, has passed the preliminary feasibility study conducted by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
National Road No. 2 has long experienced chronic traffic jams due to urban expansion and the increase in visitors to Suncheonman National Garden, causing significant inconvenience for citizens.

The project section stretches for 4.6 kilometers, connecting Yeondong Samgeori in Dosa-dong through Hyosarang Hospital in Haeryong-myeon to Haeryong IC, and is planned as a four-lane road with a total budget of 167.2 billion won.
When the bypass is completed in the future, it is expected to bring significant economic and social benefits by dispersing downtown traffic, improving overall traffic flow, restoring the function of the national road network, and responding to future transportation demand resulting from urban growth in the southern central region.
