This system is scheduled to be implemented next month.
The Korea Securities Depository, designated as the processing institution for individual investor national bonds under the National Finance Act, began building the necessary infrastructure following the confirmation of the system’s introduction at the end of last year. It has established an integrated work system that manages the entire process, from issuance of retirement pension-type national bonds to principal and interest repayment, and even cancellation.
In particular, the Korea Securities Depository will now newly undertake the work of aggregating all subscription applications received from multiple retirement pension providers and allocating them to each customer account on an individual basis. This ensures that it can provide fair and transparent allocation results to the public based on consistent standards.
Heo Jang, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, stated, "The retirement pension-type national bond investment system holds significant meaning for both the public’s retirement and the national bond market." He added, "With the introduction of this system, individual investors will have broader options for managing their retirement pensions, leading to both greater asset stability and profitability for the public, while also expanding the base of national bond demand."
