Democratic Party Regular Session Lawmakers' Workshop
"Passing the Budget Bill Within the Legal Deadline"
Byungdo Han, Floor Leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated on August 27, "This year, we will ensure that the budget to support the recovery of people's livelihoods and future growth is passed on time as required by law, without any delays."
At the Democratic Party lawmakers' workshop held at the Inspire Hotel in Yeongjongdo, Incheon, Han said, "At the workshop in July, we pledged to make the latter half of this National Assembly a ‘working parliament,’" adding, "The 100 days of this regular National Assembly session will be the golden period that will determine not only the success of the Lee Jaemyung administration, but also the overall fate of the government."

The Democratic Party will enter a legislative battle to achieve these goals."
In this regard, Han said, "Through more organic cooperation among the party, government, and presidential office—such as by regularizing high-level and working-level consultations—we will set the priorities for national projects and livelihood bills, and prepare thoroughly from processing deadlines to negotiation strategies," adding, "Afterwards, every standing committee will operate at full capacity to conclude the legislation swiftly."
Regarding next year's budget, he added, "We will ensure robust funding for easing the hardships of people's livelihoods, and ensure that investments needed for youth jobs and housing, recovery of small business owners and the self-employed, regional growth, and fostering future industries are made on time."
He concluded, "During these 100 days of the regular National Assembly, the party, government, and presidential office must become an even stronger team, and we must meet the public’s expectations with more competent and significant politics," adding, "As the floor leadership, we will do our utmost to support all senior and fellow lawmakers, living up to our role as parliamentary leaders."
