Army Launches Investigation Over "Inappropriate Conduct and Directives"
The head of cadets at the Korea Military Academy, a brigadier general-level officer, has been relieved of duty amid allegations of abuse of power. The cadet commander, who holds the rank of brigadier general, is responsible for overseeing the corps that trains and disciplines cadets.
On August 27, an Army official stated, "An inspection is currently underway regarding inappropriate remarks and personal directives by the head of cadets at the Korea Military Academy," adding, "Based on the facts confirmed during the investigation, the commander was removed from duty as of August 20 to ensure a thorough inquiry."
