The R&D Job Fair, first introduced last year, is a recruitment-linked program that invites graduate students conducting research in key business areas of Samyang Group, including chemicals, food, pharmaceuticals and bio, and packaging. The program introduces the group's R&D landscape and main research areas.
The program began with an introduction to the group's R&D, followed by presentations from individual laboratories, mentoring by current employees, and tours of the headquarters and laboratories. Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Sangyun Lee presented the specialized competencies required for R&D roles in each business division and highlighted the achievements in developing specialty (high-performance) materials.
Subsequently, four heads of laboratories explained the main technologies currently under development, the properties and principles of key materials, application cases, and related fields. Laboratory team leaders participated as mentors, providing advice on the latest research trends, actual research duties, and the competencies graduate students should develop to help them shape their careers as researchers.
Participants also toured the 'Samyang Innovation Hub' showroom, which showcases the group's specialty materials and purpose, as well as the laboratories.
One participant commented, "I was able to understand how the field I am currently researching is actually utilized and commercialized in a company’s R&D setting. The mentoring on career planning was also a great help as I prepare for employment."
Soo-Beom Lee, Head of Human Resources at Samyang Holdings, stated, "The R&D Job Fair was designed to give future research talent a hands-on experience of industrial field R&D and to provide opportunities for interaction with current researchers. Going forward, we will continue to expand our touchpoints with outstanding research talent and create more opportunities to share the group’s R&D strengths and vision."
