KFME Releases Results of 'Management Analysis of Listed Mid-Sized Companies for Q1 2026'
It has been confirmed that growth indicators for listed mid-sized companies improved in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period last year.
According to the 'Management Analysis of Listed Mid-Sized Companies for the First Quarter of 2026' released by the Korea Federation of Middle Market Enterprises on the 27th, the revenue growth rate, a key growth indicator, was 6.2%, up 4.8 percentage points year-on-year. The total assets growth rate stood at 7.0%, up 2.4 percentage points from the same period last year.
Profitability indicators for listed mid-sized companies also improved overall during the first quarter. The operating margin (7.9%) rose by 1.3 percentage points year-on-year as the cost of sales ratio decreased. The pre-tax net profit margin (11.6%) increased by 3.5 percentage points, mainly due to a rise in non-operating income such as foreign exchange gains.
However, both the debt ratio (69.5%, up 1.6 percentage points) and the dependence on borrowings (15.6%, up 0.2 percentage points) increased for listed mid-sized firms, indicating that stability indicators weakened slightly compared to the same period last year.

Hyuncheol Kim, Executive Vice Chairman of the Korea Federation of Middle Market Enterprises, stated, "The improvement in growth and profitability among listed mid-sized companies in the first quarter is a meaningful indicator that reaffirms the Korean economy's capacity for sustainable growth. It is crucial to gather the wisdom of government, the National Assembly, and all sectors to relieve the inevitable weakening of stability among mid-sized companies caused by increased leverage for active investment, by strengthening productive financial paradigms in both policy and the private sector, and to stimulate the overall industrial landscape, including mid-sized enterprises, through rationalizing regulations in labor, environment, and other key areas."
